perfect replacement but no second chances
Great product! My tubing was bent as it entered the old part and I did not cut this bent part off. When I turned the water back on there was a slow leak. I tried to pull the tubing out of the connectors. I ruined the part and had to order a new one. I cut off the non straight tubing, pressed it in and it worked perfect. 4 stars because they should warn you. Now you are warned.
Valve Assembly
I used this to repair a used refrigerator for my daughter who recently bought a house. Part was easy to find on website, when it came it was pretty self explanatory how to install (although instructions were included). It installed in minutes and worked like a charm. I would recommend this site to anyone especially for hard to find partss. Thanks
Semi-easy install and works well
Product arrived earlier than anticipated and was in original GE Package. Cost is half of what it would have cost from local retailers. During Install I had a minor problem with a plastic housing but removing it made it an easy install. Lines hooked up easily and it works like the original. Hook up was quick. A couple of things to keep in mind when installing:
1.) Make sure the water supply line is off as I found out my shut off valve in the basement was not working.
2,) Once you remove the defective one you cannot put it back on. The hoses will not reconnect after you pull them out.
Overall, took about 30-45 minutes to install but then I take my time.
