Mr. Coffee Pump Espresso Maker

A Great Machine
This is a very good machine. It is attractive and with a nice space on top for cups and assessories. The stainless look is clean and efficient looking although the weight of the parts do not necessarily convey a sense of strength and long lasting durability. It comes with two holders for coffee, one for a single demitasse and one for two demitasse. I would forget about the single and always use the double unless you are into tiny espresso servings. I also immediately took off the plastic tip for the milk frother. There is no need for that. This machine makes a cup of espresso with a beautiful crema. It is easy to use and the milk frother does a very nice job with a powerful pump behind it. The water container is easy to fill and large enough for hold quite a few cups. The drip tray is easy to clean. The machine heats up very quickly. The machine is also not at all touchy as to the kind of ground to get a nice crema. I was able to make a very good cup when I turned it on...

Owned for over a year
I actually bought this unit at Target last year. I use it daily at east once (sometimes twice) and its still going strong! It makes espresso with a decent crema nd the frothier does a great job as well (I bought a stainless steel pitcher via Amazon recently and it helps makes more froth). I think the bars of pressure in any espresso machine make a difference versus steam etc. for the cheap price it's been a great buy!!!!!

The better Mr Coffee Pump Espresso Maker
I've had this Model (ECMP55) Mr Coffee Espresso Maker for about a Year 1/2 now and it continues to make espresso's on a daily basis. The toggle switch design of the controls makes it easy to use, and more reliable than the ECMP50 model.

If you can't tell; I have owned both models of the Mr. Coffee brand pump espresso Makers (ECMP50 & ECMP55) I had the ECMP50 for about a year before it flipped out and stopped working. Where the ECMP55 is consistent and keeps on going. I mention this to say that, if making a decision of one over the other, the ECMP55 seems to have made improvement in each area that the ECMP50 had flaws.

This machine can continue to pump as long as the dial is switched to the brew position.(Good for descaling, or making a little longer pour)
This machine has a plastic guard around the frothing wand that is easy to clean and protects from getting burned.
This machine does not have internal circuit boards that are susceptible to corrosion...
