Lakewood EP-2000 Ultra-Thin Dual-Power 1000/1500-Watt Flat-Panel Heater with Electrothemic Technology

higher electric bill
This heater works really well for heating our living room. We found out it is running our electric bill up sky high. It was supposed to be "energy efficient" and lower you heating bills. Well, it has done just the opposite for us. I would not recommend this heater if you are worried about your electric bill.

Upon closer inspection I noticed a spot near the bottom of the control side, near a label, that appeared to be melting from behind. I made the decision to dismantle the side of the heater to get a look at the wiring. That's when I discovered that the power cord lead to the tip over sensor had failed causing it to overheat. Due to the close quarters the wire had been pressed against the plastic side and as it over heated it began melting the plastic. There was a black charred indentation where the wire had been pressed against the side. I am...
